Quantum Scholars is working with a secondary school in Hertfordshire who are seeking a motivated and passionate Science Teacher to join them in September 2025. Role Overview:
As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging lessons across Key Stage 3 and 4, preparing students for GCSEs in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. The school values a hands-on, practical approach to teaching, encouraging creativity and critical thinking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching & Curriculum Delivery: Deliver high-quality science lessons to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, ensuring lessons are engaging, challenging, and tailored to the needs of diverse learners.

  • Assessment & Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess student progress, providing constructive feedback, setting targets, and tracking achievement to ensure all students reach their potential.

  • Classroom Management: Create a positive, inclusive, and disciplined classroom environment that promotes effective learning and supports student wellbeing.

  • Collaboration & Development: Work collaboratively with other department members to plan, develop, and share teaching resources and best practices. Participate in regular department meetings, professional development opportunities, and school-wide initiatives.

  • Student Support & Pastoral Care: Build strong relationships with students, providing guidance and support to foster both academic success and personal growth.

  • Extra-Curricular Contribution: Contribute to the wider life of the school by supporting extra-curricular activities related to science, such as science clubs, trips, or outreach programs.

Key Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (or working towards QTS if newly qualified).

  • A strong degree in a science-related subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a combined science degree).

  • Experience teaching science at Key Stage 3 and 4 level, with a proven ability to deliver engaging and successful lessons.

  • Passionate about science education and inspiring students to pursue scientific thinking and curiosity.

  • A solid understanding of the national curriculum and GCSE requirements for science.

  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to adapt your teaching to meet the diverse needs of students.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with students, parents, and colleagues effectively.

  • A commitment to professional development and a desire to contribute to the school’s ongoing improvement.

  • Must be available for September 2025!
